What To Do This Weekend 3.12-3.14

This time last year things took a drastic turn and we are unfathomably still dealing with the consequences. Don’t let that stop you from getting out of the house and participating in some socially distanced + masked up fun. See below for a list of events/activities happening this weekend.

Friday, March 12th

Join the Dawgleg Bar & Grill forย great live music by Larry Velez, delicious food, and ice cold drinks! Friday at 7:30pm.

Visit the Garfield Park Conservatory for a much-needed preview of spring! The annual Spring Bulb Show returns this year with an array of colorful spring blooms. From classic favorites to unique hybrids of tulips, hyacinth, and daffodils โ€“ your cure to the winter blues is here! Visitors can also stroll through the Conservatoryโ€™s tropical plant collection, enjoying waterfalls, orchids, and more.

All visitors must purchase timed-tickets in advance. This will help limit capacity as the health and safety of staff and patrons is a priority. Admissions will be available for purchase online or by phone beginning Friday, February 19 at 10 am.

Cost: $4.

The Cosmic Situation at the Verve 10pm.

A deceptively simple format–the power trio. Don’t mistake TCS as a simplistic band, as all three members are masters of space in music. The bass player will interchangeably play lead and comp for the lead guitarist, and the guitarist plays rhythm and lead simultaneously.

Derek Meeker will be playing at 365 Bar & Grill this Friday at 8pm.

Join Chelsea’s General Store & Pickin Post in Rockville for a Spring Open House. 3 floors of goodies from antiques to handcrafted item’s and farmhouse decor with great item’s to decorate your home for spring! Door Prizes be given throughout the day! Hope to see you Saturday!!

Join St Patricks School for The Irish Dash 5K run/walk and 1 mile fun run on Saturday, March 13, 2021. T-shirt deadline is March 1!

Check in is at 7:30 a.m with races beginning at 9 a.m. at the shamrock located at the intersection of 19th and Poplar Streets.
Awards and Door Prizes Following the Race โ€“ Presented at St. Patrick School.
Entry fee is $20 per participant (non-refundable) and includes: race shirt, food, door prizes, entertainment, awards, and chipped timing by Timing MD.
T-shirt Deadline: Participants must be registered by March 1 to be guaranteed a race shirt.
Proceeds benefit the St. Patrick School Class of 2022 for their educational field trip to Washington D.C.

Alyssa’s Custom Cakes & Treats in Sullivan will be teaching the kids how to decorate a Pot of Gold cupcakes, they will learn step by step instructions. Then enjoy a shamrock sugar cookie and punch. Each child will get a chefs hat and apron along with their 2 cupcakes to take home. The cost will be 10 dollars a child. Please RSVP to save your spot as spaces are limited.

The Sins and Spirits Haunted History Walking Tour takes patrons on a one hour walk around the city of Terre Haute. Along the way, we will stop at 5 locations with ties to Terre Haute’s brewing history and its days as Sin City. We will discuss the spirits that inhabit each location as well as their interactions with the living. Please arrive at the Max Erhmann statue 15 minutes prior to your scheduled tour time. This tour is for ages 16 and over.ย

Prairie Creek Park
8:00 a.m. โ€“ 12:00 p.m.

$10 Registration Fee
Pre-Registration Required
Runners will traverse an approximately 2.5-mile course throughout Prairie Creek Park! This is a cup-less event so make sure to bring a water bottle or drink carrier. Onsite registration begins at 8 a.m. with races starting at 8:45 a.m.
Runners will participate in one of the following classes:
1. Under 18 Boys and Girls
2. Over 18 Men
3. Over 18 Women
There is a $10 entry fee per trail run. Ribbons will be awarded to the top 3 finishers of each run. The Indy Winter Farmers Market returns for its 14th season and runs every Saturday until April 24, 2021.

The Indy Winter Farmers Market features a wide variety of vendors, including local farms, bath and body product shops, coffee roasters, woodworkers, composters, and much more.

The market also partners with Fresh Bucks to provide a triple SNAP match program, which allows SNAP recipients to receive tokens in the quantity they purchase with their SNAP cards, plus up to $20 of matching market tokens and up to $20 in Fresh Bucks.

All market patrons and vendors must wear masks and socially distance while inside the market.

Annual St Pats Ride

Grab a friend, plan your green biking attire, and get registered! 18 & 30 mile routesโ€”both include a a SAG stop for snacks and drinks. Food and beverages after the ride! This is the clubs annual fundraising ride. We continue to support organizations such as Bikes for Tykes, the B & O Trail Association, People Pathways, Parke Trail Alliance,Indiana Bicycling Coalition, N.R H.T., The Seelyville Fire Department, and the Terre Haute Parks and Recreation Department. We could not do this without the financial and physical support of our members. *Riders under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult and will need a parent signed waiver the day of the event.
