Friday, August 21st

Kris Anderson will be performing live at 365 Bar & Grill this Friday evening from 8-11pm.Purdue Extension will be hosting a growing blackberries program at Fresh on Cypress in southern Vigo County (15200 S. Cypress St., Terre Haute) on Friday, August 21st from 9:00 – 11:00 am. “THE BERRY BEST: HOW TO GROW BLACKBERRIES” event will introduce participants to growing blackberries and making associated value-added products such as blackberry BBQ sauces, jam, jelly, and syrup.

Fresh on Cypress is a 1 ½ acre blackberry farm that uses a trellis system, which allows the plants to be laid flat and covered in the winter months for protection. They have 909 plants consisting of four varieties of thornless blackberries – Nachez, Ouachita, Apache, and Chester. This educational program is for any one that is interested in learning about growing blackberries in Indiana. Participation is limited to the first 20 to register by August 19. The registration fee is $5 per person and payable in cash at the event. Face coverings will be required. Register online at: https://bit.ly/PurdueBestBerry . Tommy Kelly will be playing at The Verve this Friday evening at 7:15pm followed by Ross David at 9pm.While we may not be able to host the Urbana Sweetcorn Festival this year, we’re making the most of the situation! Swing by the Lincoln Square Mall parking lot on Friday, August 21st, from 2PM to 7PM to pick up some sweetcorn and other 2020 SCF merchandise! $5 suggested donation.

Doors open at 7:45 AM and yoga will take place from 8 – 9 AM. Your registration fee includes yoga with a 200-hour certified yoga instructor with mimosas and coffee alongside Mad Goat bakery items. Merrit Spicer will lead you through a yoga routine suitable for all levels while you enjoy the morning sun and Downtown Danville from Palace Park. Grab a some food and drinks to enjoy before you head out!

Registration is limited. Yoga mats are available at class.

Sunday, August 23rd

The Tilted Compass Winery in Lewis will be hosting a wine glass painting class Sunday at 11am.  You will be painting 2 wine glasses (one red wine and one white wine glass). Please RSVP to Abby Shidler or message the winery page! Cost is $30 per person only 20 people total will be allowed!
