What to do this Weekend

What To Do This Weekend 7.30-8.1

Friday, July 30th

Wabash Valley’s Lemonade Day is July 30-31, 2021. This event is typically hosted in the summer where kids around the Wabash Valley setup their lemonade stands and learn about running their own business.
India & Brionna (plus friends) will be hosting a “curbside” Frozen Lemonade Stand at The Sycamore Winery on Friday, July 30 from 5pm – 7pm EST. All proceeds will be donated to the Mitochondrial Disease Foundation in support of Brionna who lives with Mitochondrial Disease. Additional tips/donations will go directly to help fund the purchase of a pedal assist motorized bicycle for Brionna. To learn about Mito, read more here: https://www.umdf.org/what-is-mitochondrial-disease-2/
To keep our kids safe, this will be a curbside only lemonade stand, kind of drive-thru style. So, we are encouraging that you preorder your frozen lemonade in advance so they can have them ready upon your arrival. Please wear your mask as kids approach your car.
Order now and pick-up on Friday!! https://thesycamorewinery.square.site/
Please ignore the pick-up time on email confirmation. These will be available from 5-7pm EST on Friday, July 30. ONLY AVAILABLE AT THE DURKEES FERRY LOCATION.
There are two different flavors to pick from:
Cotton Candy Lemonade (blue raspberry cotton candy lemonade topped with cotton candy)
Unicorn Lemonade (strawberry lemonade with whipped topping, marshmallows, and sprinkles)
Do not worry, just because they are made at the winery, these are non-alcoholic!!
The Midnight River Run, presented by Riddell National Bank, takes place Friday, July 30 at Fairbanks Park. Participants can choose a 1-mile run/walk or a 5k run/walk. This is a NIGHT race. The 1-mile starts at 10:50 p.m. and the 5k starts at 11:15 p.m. Age group awards will be given.
Each year the Midnight River Run includes a high school team event where schools can compete as a group to win money for their school running program. Each team must consist of at least four members. High school awards for both girls and boys. The four fastest times from each team will be used for the team placement. Team members are eligible for individual age group awards. The school team with the lowest cumulative time will win $250, and the second place team will win $100 for their school running program.
The Midnight River Run also funds the WVRR Scholarship Program. Each year WVRR awards two scholarships to outstanding student athletes from the Wabash Valley. Applicants are evaluated based on their academic and athletic accomplishments as well as the contributions they make to their schools and communities.
