February is here! The groundhog may have predicted 6 more weeks of winter but we are going to make the most of it by providing you with a list of fun activities & events you can do this weekend.

The Historic Tivoli Theater in Spencer, Indiana is hosting romantic movie showings all month long.

Maple Syrup Hikes: Take an off the trail hike with our Natural Resource Programmer and explore the vast system of maple syrup lines arranged throughout Prairie Creek Park. The hike will cover approximately 3-3.5 miles and extends beyond the established trails in the park. Hikers will experience terrain including rolling hills and steep inclines and declines in some areas. It is recommended participants dress warm and wear footwear appropriate for slick and muddy conditions. VCPRD maple syrup will be available to taste and for purchase at the conclusion of the hike.

Black History Gallery Tours at the the Indiana State Museum. Go beyond the exhibit label and learn more about the artifacts featured at the Indiana State Museum that connect to Black and African American history in Indiana.

The Terre Haute Farmer’s Market is hosting their first pre-order and pickup event at the Meadows this Saturday.

This is a great way for you to purchase healthy, fresh, local foods and support local growers while maintaining the utmost health precautions. Their vendors will have your purchases ready for pickup with zero or minimal contact in the southwest corner of the Meadows lot. 

Randall Creed will be playing at 365 Bar & Grill this Saturday night. Enjoy current & classic country favorites starting at 8pm.

In Celebration of Black History Month. Griffin Bike Park and Sundance Skills Clinics will be honoring our fallen soldiers by hosting a fundraising winter ride at Griffin Bike Park! Come out and shake off the winter rust.
This rides promotes:

 Encourage people to opt outside
 Discover new places to ride!
 Make new friends!
 Hot chocolate and coffee
 Cookies/Brownies/Cupcakes

Some of the best ways we learn is to share stories with our peers finding the ways that our ancestors impacted our lives and the lives of others in tremendous ways. For this Research Roundtable, let’s talk about all the ways that Black History is everyone’s history. We’ll ask a few questions to get folks chatting, but the rest is up to you. We would love to “see” you there.
