Holiday Lights

There’s nothing like a magical light display to put you in the holiday spirit! It’s time to bundle up, fill your mugs with hot chocolate, and take a ride or stroll through one of these dreamy winter wonderlands.

We’ve put together a list of where you can check out some amazing light displays in or around the Wabash Valley.

Christmas in the Park

Christmas in the Park takes place every year at Deming Park in Terre Haute. This has been a tradition in our family since I was born and I am sure it is a tradition for most families in Vigo County.

Different organizations, schools, or businesses decorate one of the many shelters throughout the park with lights, trees, figures, and more. Visitors drive through and check out each display from the comforts of their own vehicles.

Deming Park in Terre Haute will be lit up with Christmas lights from 5 pm to 10 pm. The Holiday Express train will also run every night from 5 pm to 8 pm, weather permitting, until December 20th.

Wabash Valley Home Light Displays

I could go on and on about all the beautiful displays members of our community put the time and effort into at their homes this year, but I don’t have enough space for that.

If you are looking for home light displays in our area, check out the Facebook Group: Terre Haute Christmas Light Displays. Residents are sharing photos and videos of their work and you can map out a fun visit for the displays that you want to see in person. You could also make a night of it and cozy up on the couch and watch them from the comforts of your own home.

Dee's Christmas Light Show

We have visited this synchronized light display a few years in a row. Located in Brazil, Indiana at 10774 N Murphy Rd, Brazil, IN 47834.

Dee’s Christmas Light Show features thousands of LED Christmas lights flashing in time to some of your favorite Christmas songs.

Christmas at the Zoo

Dating back to 1967, the Indianapolis Zoo was the first zoo in the nation to hold a holiday lights event. Year after year, Christmas at the Zoo continues to grow. For their 52nd year, they’re adding even more lights to fill the Zoo with a warm glow. And the best part is it’s all included with regular admission!

Christmas in the Zoo runs November 21st to December 30th.

Winterlights at Newfields

November 21st until January 3rd, experience the wonder of over a million and a half lights glittering on one-hundred-year-old trees in the historic garden. Winterlights at Newfields is a sight to see! Winterlights is an entire outdoor experience as you walk the paths of the gardens and see artistic glowing displays. Advance tickets are required and sell out fast.

Indianapolis Home Light Displays

While visiting Indy this past weekend and after checking out the beautiful displays at Newfields, we wanted to check out some home displays in the area. IndywithKids.com has put together a super cool map pinned with light displays all across Indianapolis. No matter what area you are in, you can find some pretty amazing displays put on by the residents.

Christmas Nights of Lights

Christmas Nights of Lights is at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. Come see over 1 million twinkling lights synchronized to traditional and newer, rocking Christmas music played through your car stereo. Pack your vehicle full of friends and family to enjoy the show and begin a new Christmas tradition.

Note: Some have reported waiting in line a few hours before seeing lights and then the lights taking a couple hours as well. Be prepared with snacks, drinks, and entertainment.
