When you step inside the blue doors at 1800 Wabash Avenue you are hit with a heavenly aroma of fried food, music pouring over the sound system, and are greeted with several friendly faces. Mama D’s is a new restaurant in Terre Haute that specializes in fish, chicken, and gyros.
The storefront sits in between a car wash and a window shop, and will be your new favorite carry-out spot. Mama D’s started out as a food truck in 2018 and has since transformed into the restaurant that it is today. Their menu features multiple “secret sauces”, various combination plates, specialty desserts made fresh daily, and are available for catering. 
The staff was super friendly and passionate about the business, they even shared some of the restaurants history with us while we waited for our food. We had a chance to try out some of their famous traditional wings, catfish nuggets, and jumbo shrimp. It did not disappoint and we will for sure be back to try their gyros and Philly cheese steaks. 
Mama D’s is open Sunday-Wednesday 11am-11pm and Thursday-Saturday 11am-1am. They are in the process of adding a delivery option, but as of right now they are just offering carry out. Follow Mama D’s on Instagram to stay up to date on an specials, contests, or to drool over their food posts.
