A Look At

Clabber Girl Bake Shop Cafe: Chef’s Night To Go

Dinner dates are still looking a little different this year, while some are slowly beginning to venture out, mask in tow.  Many of us are still opting to dine in.  Which is why we love when our restaurant favorites keep the foodies happy, even at home, with gourmet food we can grab to go.  Take a ride with us, as we take a look at Clabber Girl Bake Shop Cafe’s Chef’s Night…To-Go!
The Bake Shop Café has been offering their monthly Chef’s Night dinners for well over 4 years now.  While there was a bit of a break over 2020 of these highly anticipated dinners, we were happy to see them re-emerge this past November in a new format.  Previously hosted on the first Friday of every month from 6pm-8pm, they are now offering their Chef’s Night dinner menu once a month, on a pre-announced date, for curb-side pick up to go.

Each Chef’s Night event features a new menu, ranging in years past from Italian to Caribbean (and every cuisine in-between), tapas to tacos, and winter dinners to spring feast.  Chef’s Night menus are created and crafted by their Executive Chef Amanda Shook, featuring tantalizing dessert from April Osburn, their First Floor Operations Manager.

With lines out the door (and now found with cars curbside) Clabber Girl’s Chef’s Night is a unique event and food experience you can only find at the Bake Shop Café.  I took advantage of their November Chef’s Night To Go, and per my usual, I ordered way too much…and I enjoyed every last bite.  I had a hard time deciding, so I opted to order their Lobster Turnover (swoon), Cajun Duck Hash with Creole Aioli, Fried Artichoke Po’Boys (these ended up being my FAVORITE – I should have ordered 2 just so I could have it again), Butternut Squash Soup, AND Sage-Caramel Apple Cake.

This month they are dishing out dinner just in time to celebrate Valentine’s Day early.  If you’re like me, you’ll take their advice and use it as a chance to celebrate Mardi Gras at home!  With choices like Chicken Jambalaya or Cajun Seafood Pot Pie, many are going to have a hard time picking just one!  However, whichever dishes you decide on, you’re sure to be pleased with this months menu.

Place your orders for their February 11th Chef’s Night by calling the café at 812-478-7189, email orders to [email protected] OR send them a direct message on Facebook (Clabber Girl Bake Shop Café).  Advanced orders are appreciated, so be sure to take advance of pre-ordering your dinner!  Located at 900 Wabash Ave., orders are available for curb side pick up from 4-7pm (Thursday, Febrauary 11th).  Take a look at their menu options below (YUM!) and check out their Facebook page for full descriptions.
