Roses are red, mornings are hard, I suck at poetry. Coffee.
Supporting local small businesses has always been one of the essential reasons we created our blog. This month, we are taking you inside the quaint new coffee shop on the Northside of town, Little Bear Coffee Co.
Little Bear Coffee Co. is owned by Maja Austin of Terre Haute. This cute and cozy spot is located in North Terre Haute at the corner of East Haythorne Avenue and Lafayette.
The inside of the coffee shop is reminiscent of a cabin with wood planks lining the walls. Mismatched tables and chairs fill the big space, making it a great environment to get some work done or bring the kids if you need to get out of the house. Our favorite part of the interior is the big bear, little bear mural that is handprinted on the brick wall.
The menu is full of options ranging from decadent frappuccino’s to frothy flavored latte’s. The shop has partnered with another local business, Red Room Cakery, who helps supply them with fresh baked goods daily. Little Bear is currently offering limited lunch items, such as soups and sandwiches. They are also expanding the menu all the time, so check their Facebook page or Instagram page for current specials.
If you want a nice place to hang out with your family, read a book, or catch up on work, Little Bear Coffee Co. is a perfect spot for all of the above. I encourage you all to check it out for breakfast or lunch, just to try something new and local. A drive-thru is in the works for those who don’t have time to slow down and enjoy a cup of joe inside. The shop is open Monday through Saturday 6am-8pm.
