Artisan Market at Honeysuckle Hill Bee-stro

This event is a time to meander their grounds and visit Hoosier artisans who create and make their own items for Market. There are several different medians including leather work, pottery, chocolates, wine, hand lettering, metal, wood, doll making, and drawing who will have items for sale and who will be working their craft during the Market. Extra parking is available across the road.

Taste of Putnam County

A very special First Friday event, co-hosted with the Putnam County Chamber of Commerce. Come out and taste test a variety of locations from all around the county, then cast your vote for the best!

Western Kentucky native Daniel Neihoff combines powerful vocals, Appalachian style finger-picking, and narrative songwriting to create his own blend of Americana, blues, and country. The world is hearing his range of traditional country to modern pop with a soulful blend. We are hearing the launch of a voice familiar and unique that feels as if it began quite a while ago.

Join the VCPRD Sunday, September 5th at Hawthorn Park from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. where our Rec Coordinator and Natural Resource Programmer will be giving hour-long informational kayak tours of Burns Lake! Tours will include a brief introduction to the recreational benefits of kayaking and the ecology and biology of the lake. Afterward, participants will have the opportunity to paddle around the lake by themselves while being supervised by the staff!
NOTE: There is a $10 registration fee per person for this event. Life jackets (provided by the VCPRD) are to be worn properly at ALL times when on the water. No exceptions. The VCPRD has 6 kayaks with seats for 7 individuals. Children ages 13 and under must be supervised by an adult at all times. Children under the age of 3 may ride sitting on a parent’s lap.
