Friday, May 24th

The Banks of the Wabash Festival (the dirt fest) kicks off this weekend at Fairbanks Park.

-Friday the carnival and the festivl open at 5pm. (wristband night)

The Colby Green Band will be on the OUTDOOR STAGE at Charlie’s Pub & Grub, on Friday May 24th. Join them, for a night of Indiana-grown Americana, under the stars. Must be 21+ to enter. No cover charge.

For Monte Skelton, music is a way of life. It’s been that way even before most people learn of his ability to play over 20 musical instruments. The University of Evansville alumni is a music educator at Evansville Music Academy, and performs music around the Midwestern United States. Along with his musical talents, Skelton is known for his kind heart and optimistic outlook on life, even through the hardest of times. Through playing music festivals, private events, and local venues, Monte says that he has been fortunate enough to gain loyal followers. Along with recording, mixing, mastering and producing two solo albums between 2017-2018, Monte has also performed with the legendary group The Temptations and jazz vocalist Sherrie Bias, and has performed for many other famous musicians and events. Currently he performs solo using looping technology and with the groups ‘Keith Farny Jazz Collective,’ and with his band ‘Team Skelton.’ Monte Skelton will be performing at the Verve on Friday @ 9:30pm. The Local Vinyl will also be set up to sell records on site at 5pm.

Foreigner, one of the biggest-selling bands in history and creator of some of rock’s most enduring hits, will headline the Miller Lite Carb Day Concert on Friday, May 24, 2019!

Joining them on stage will be Kool & the Gang, which has received countless awards for its chart-topping funk, R&B and pop hits! This concert takes place at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway beginning at 3:30pm.

Saturday, May 25th

This Saturday is International Wine & Cheese Day and what better way to celebrate than with a party at WaterTower Estates Winery?!?!  They will have Music by Don Morris, from 6-9pm, as well as food by One Cheesy Family Specialty Grilled Cheese and Mac ‘n Cheese! Featuring Limited Time Sangrias, and a children’s slushies!

The Nerve will be performing at Charlies Pub and Grub this Saturday night. Rain or Shine the show must go on. Music starts at 8pm but come early to grab a good seat.

Join local growers and makers on Saturday, May 25th from 8:00 a.m. – noon in the The Meadows – Terre Haute parking lot! The outdoor Farmers Market will have more than 35 participating vendors and live music from Chris Drew, there’s something for everyone! Family and pet friendly, so bring the whole crew!

Midnight Motive will be making its first appearance at the Poplar Pub this Saturday night! They are thrilled to get into a new establishment and support their local music venues. Come out and enjoy some excellent food, excellent beer and excellent music. Tunes start at 9PM!

The Eskimo Brothers have become known one of Nashville’s can’t miss live shows. The honky tonk trio has honed their stage show and sound from nearly 300 shows per year and thousands of gig hours in the Music City honky tonks over the past 7 years. They will be performing at the Bad Apple Saloon in Cory, Indiana beginning at 8pm.

Joes Garage in Clay City, Indiana is hosting its first live music event of the summer in the alley! We are pairing up with Hoosier Daddy Auto Care to celebrate their grand opening on Saturday, May 25th! Enjoy great food and live music beginning at 2pm.

Multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning Zac Brown Band will headline the Firestone Legends Day Concert on Saturday, May 25 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, one day before the 103rd Indianapolis 500.

The concert, which also will feature additional acts to be announced in the coming weeks, starts at 3:30 p.m. on the Firestone Stage inside Turn 4 of the IMS oval.

Skrillex, Alesso, Illenium and Chris Lake are headlining the 2019 Indy 500 Snake Pit presented by Coors Light on Sunday, May 26 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.  The star-studded lineup will perform in the infield adjacent to Turn 3 of the IMS oval during the 103rd Indianapolis 500. Snake Pit performances will start at 7 a.m., with specific set times will be announced soon.

Monday, May 27th (Memorial Day)

Pfreak Show will be playing at Fairbanks Park this Memorial Day beginning at 6:30pm.  This is an all ages event happening during the Banks of the Wabash Festival.

This Monday at Deming Park is the 8th Annual Memorial Day 5K. The 5K run/walk will be honoring our veterans and current service men and women. All 5K runners will have chip timing. The course will start in Deming heading towards Dobbs Park and back to complete 1 loop in Deming Park where you will finish. There will be awards for all age levels for the 5K along with door prizes to be raffled off. There will also be a 1 mile fun run. Everyone that registers for the 5K and 1 mile by May 15th will receive a shirt.

Registration will begin at 7 a.m.
Ceremony begins 8:15 a.m.
1 mile Kickoff–8:40 a.m.
5k Kickoff –9:00 a.m.

Special “Ride” for the Fallen: To Honor and Remember all those who have paid the price for our Freedom.
Group Ride Route:
Start at the Stadium, ride around the Veterans Trail passing and honoring over 7,000 flags representing our Fallen heroes killed in Iraq and Afghanistan (10:00 a.m. – 10:15 a.m.).
Then, go north of the Park and take Heritage Trail East to Highland Lawn Cemetery for Patriot Guard ceremony at Sargent Dale Griffin’s gravesite at 10:30 a.m., then attend Memorial Day presentation in the Cemetery from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Next, leave Cemetery with Police escort and bike to
Griffin Bike Park’s front gate entrance for a special flag ceremony. (18 miles to the Park).
