With a new year and fresh start upon us, it’s a great opportunity to get out and try some new unique foods outside of the Wabash Valley. This month we are bringing you a look at an upscale downtown Carmel steak house whose Executive Chef has some strong roots in Terre Haute. Chef Justin Miller was a graduate of Terre Haute North High School, where he participated in golf and basketball but always had a passion for food. In 2007, Justin moved to Indianapolis to attend the International Culinary School at the Art Institutes. After graduation, he worked the private club scene. A few years ago, he was introduced to Anthony Lazzara, who, at the time, was looking for a chef to head up his planned restaurant in downtown Carmel. The two hit it off, and the result is Anthony’s Chophouse.
Anthony’s Chophouse is a family owned restaurant with unparalleled views of downtown Carmel. They offer an innovative take on a traditional steakhouse that redefines the modern fine-dining experience by serving classic steakhouse cuisine with a unique spin along side signature cocktails. Not only does this spot offer fine dining, they also have a rooftop bar, 3UP. 3 UP Rooftop Bar features signature cocktails and shareables. The views are spectacular and the rooftop is heated so it’s perfect 365 days a year.
The restaurant also features a peek into the kitchen so you can see how the staff works to create the delicious meals you are about to devour. The menu changes year round based on what is fresh and in season, but I highly recommend the Short Rib.Anthony’s Chophouse is open for Lunch and Dinner and they are located at 201 W. Main Street in Carmel, Indiana. If you get a chance to dine at this establishment, let the staff know you are from Terre Haute and I am sure Justin will take some time out of the kitchen to come say hello.
