A Look At: Terre Haute Brewing Co.

When it comes to beer, local & craft are king amongst the many.  With the craft beer craze over the last few years, we have seen some amazing breweries pop-up here in the mid-west.  From Up-Land to Sun King to 3 Floyd’s, Indiana is turning out some prime brews with local flare.  So, it’s amazing to get to share with you all, a historic classic that’s right here in town for all to enjoy.  Say hello again, to Terre Haute Brewing Co.

Terre Haute Brewing Co. first opened its doors back in 1837, and in the 1800s it was the 7th largest brewery in the country.  The building has sat empty since closing their doors back in 1959.  However, with a little bit of imagination and quite a bit of hard work and determination, the brewery is back at it and serving beer (and food!) better than ever.

Offering up a wide variety of house-made brews and guest beers, they have a little something for everyone.  From the Stiffy Green (there’s a fun local story with this name) to the Wango Tango, they currently have 6 beers that are being brewed in-house and on the menu.  Can’t decide which one you want, no worries…get a FLIGHT

The beers aren’t all they have for you to enjoy when you’re hanging out in their Tap Room.  TH Brewing Co. has a pretty delicious dinner menu (I’m partial to the tacos), and AMAZING lunch specials that are perfect to partake in during the work week.  In the last few months they have become the new go-to spot for Sunday Brunch, and you already know how much Melissa and I love our Sunday brunches.  With bottomless mimosas for just $10 to the most perfectly poached eggs on their Eggs Benedict, you really cannot go wrong tossing on your Sunday best, grabbing your friends and heading over every Sunday.

Though their beer and food are amazing, I would be remiss to not mention the actually building.  Full of exposed brick, low lighting, and original character.  I love coming in here on a Sunday, and just leisurely enjoy brunch with friends while taking in the space.  The tap room is the main area you come into upon entering, and is where all the beer magic happens on a daily basis.  Next to that is the Velvet Room.

This room is HUGE.  It’s available to rent for private parties, and if you are a music fan like we are, this is the spot you want to be at on Friday and Saturday nights.  Keep an eye on our event page and weekly Week at a Glance posts, we’ll have all the details on Terre Haute Brewing Co.’s upcoming events and bands being featured.  AND…a little birdie told us about an exciting band that’s coming to The Velvet Room in the fall, and you don’t want to miss out!

Cheers!
