Midnight Motive is returning to the Verve on Friday May 31st. Music starts at 10pm.
The Banks of the Wabash Festival (dirt fest) is still cracking this weekend. With the carnival opening followed by the festival both nights. Charles Walker Band plays Friday and the Community Band plays Saturday.
Tolly’s Bar and Grill is hosting an Open Mic Comedy night this Friday before Karaoke. It’s a great way to try out new jokes, network with other local comedians, and to support the local comedy scene. It starts at 8pm.
Camille Rae will be performing at Charlies Pub & Grub this Friday night at 8pm.

This weekend and next weekend check out Last Gas performed at the Community Theatre of Terre Haute. Last Gas is a comedy/drama by John Cariani, directed by Jeri Doty. Rated PG-13. Nat manages Paradis’ Last Convenient Store, the last convenient place to get gas—or anything—before the Canadian border to the north and the North Maine Woods to the west. When an old flame returns to town, Nat gets a chance to rekindle a romance he gave up on years ago. Last Gas takes a hilarious & heartbreakingly hard look at love lost and found.
StraightDavis is performing at The Bad Apple Saloon this Friday night at 8:30pm. StraightDavis is an Indie Acoustic girl band made up of two cousins; Andrea Davis and Shelly Roofe, both from the small town of Spencer, In. Their unique style is like none other, covering all genres from country to rock, pop to rap and alternative to the oldies. These down-to-Earth girls have drawn in fans of all ages and all over playing in several cities across Indiana and also touring twice in New Jersey and in New York. When you see them play you’re guaranteed to hear a favorite song from the 80’s, 90’s or 2000’s.

Join local growers and makers for Terre Haute Farmer’s Market on Saturday, June 1st from 8:00 a.m. – noon in the The Meadows – Terre Haute parking lot! The first Saturday of the month is always our big market, with close to 40 participating vendors and live music from David Goodier. We’ll also have Susan G. Komen Central Indiana visiting to share information about their organization and this fall’s Race For The Cure. There’s something for everyone! Family and pet friendly, so bring the whole crew!

Run along the banks of the muddy Wabash River, with the impressive towers of the federal penitentiary as your backdrop, scaling some extreme obstacles and challenges along the way. Slip, slide, climb, and fight your way through the crowd to make it to the finish line!! Challenge yourself as well as other runners to achieve your goal. Not looking to compete? No problem! Run the ‘fun run’ where your only challenger is yourself. Bring your bestie, have fun and get dirty!!
They also have the Mini-BHBO course which is a one mile run with obstacles and mud for kids under 12.

This is an all levels class that focuses on breath and postures to help align, strengthen, and develop flexibility in the body. Yoga has been shown to decrease stress, increase balance, and promote a sense of wellbeing. Start your week off right! Learn basic yoga movements to rejuvenate your mind and body with instructor, Emily Brana. Bring a mat or blanket for yoga on the Labyrinth in Hawthorn Park.
Every year, during the first weekend of June, the Woodruff Place Flea Market promises two days of treasure-hunting and treasure-finding, combined with food, fun, and terrific people-watching! The Flea Market began as a neighborhood fundraiser in 1975, and has grown from neighbors selling stuff in their yards to 80 acres and over 200 yards filled with stuff for sale.
What will you find at Flea Market? Bargains! Food! Entertainment! It’s an entire neighborhood filled with a huge assortment of treasures for sale. Everything from antiques to action figures to art; from file folders to furniture. It’s different every year! In the heart of the neighborhood, there is food, drink, entertainment to keep people happy while they rest their feet for a moment. Wear your comfortable shoes and plan to spend the day – better yet, plan to spend both days. The length and breadth of this Flea Market will amaze you.
The Market takes place Saturday and Sunday in Woodruff Place, Indianapolis beginning at 10am.
Come join Yoga Underground for yoga in Clinton’s community garden! They are teaming up with REEF (Recycling and Environmental Education Foundation) to bring awareness to yoga and local sustainability in Clinton. All are welcome, not just Yogis and gardening enthusiasts. Our hope is to encourage Clinton’s residents to be more mindful of their bodies and their environment. Starting at 12:30 p.m. we will be doing a short meditation and yoga practice followed by planting of native pollinators in the community garden. Come connect with YOUR environment by feeling the grass under your feet and the soil between your fingers. The cost to attend is $15 and will include a donation to REEF as well as a picnic lunch prepared by local restaurants.
