Love cold, delicious, locally-brewed beer in the summer? Then you’ll love our second field day of the series. Anna Schweig will be giving a guided tour of Big Thorn Farm & Brewery in Georgetown, which is a sustainable, off-grid operation that she built with her husband Aaron. From gooseberries to apple mint, Anna grows many of the botanicals and ingredients used in the delicious beers made at the brewery. Discover how Anna and Aaron built and run this unique and sustainable off-grid farmhouse brewery on 15 acres in Vermillion County, IL.

Their amazing operation is not open to the public, so here is your chance to see first-hand how they cellar-ferment their amazing small-batch beers, brewed with ingredients from their farm, including ginger, almonds, cherries, rhubarb, and gooseberries, in a facility run on solar-power.

Delicious, fresh, local refreshments will be provided to replenish the body, cool the summer heat, and facilitate getting to know each other. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend!
