Proceeds from this event will go to support bringing yoga & mindfulness programs to the children of our central Indiana schools, through the Indy Yoga Movement.

Indy Yoga Movement is an Indianapolis-based nonprofit working through schools and organizations to empower our youth to overcome challenges and lead mindful, purposeful and healthy lives through the development of life skills using yoga, mindfulness and other awareness practices.

IYM merged with Mighty Lotus yoga in April 2017. Mighty Lotus and Indy Yoga Movement had similar visions and conducted very similar programs. Mighty Lotus focused on urban Indianapolis schools and specialized in mindfulness for high risk populations. We realized that merging our resources, talent, and knowledge would save money and increase our ability to serve more schools and more students. We are proud to be ONE organization under the Indy Yoga Movement name.

To participate in the Duck Race all you have to do is purchase a duck or paddling of ducks and you are entered in the race. You can purchase ducks at the Duck Race or at various BRVA events in June. The race begins promptly at 4:30 pm. The ducks dive in the Central Canal at the Monon Trail bridge and race to the finish line beyond the Rainbow Bridge, near the pedestrian bridge at College Avenue.

Prizes are awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. The prizes are gift cards from Broad Ripple Village merchants. First prize is valued at over $500. We will announce the winner by the name. You do not have to be present to win.

There is plenty of space to watch the race on either side of the Central Canal between the Monon Trail Bridge, the Rainbow Bridge and College Avenue. The Canal Esplanade is now open on the north bank between College and Guilford and is a popular viewing spot to see the ducks reach the finish line!

Sunday, June 23rd is a great day for families in the Village. From 3:00-5:00 pm, they can partake in a variety of activities on the Rainbow Bridge (where Guilford Avenue crosses the Central Canal).

Enjoy face painting, temporary tattoos, balloon artistry, art and crafts, carnival games, and much more.
