Celebrating Our Freedom: 4th of July Events 2018

Tank tops, shotgunning a beer, and lighting up the sky; these are just a few of the freedoms we as American’s can celebrate on the Fourth of July in the US of A. We’ve put together a little guide to help you find the perfect place to celebrate your freedom! 

Terre Haute & Brazil

4th of July Celebration at Fairbanks Park-The most electrifying fireworks display in the Wabash Valley will take place on July 4th at Fairbanks Park. (Rain date will be Thursday, July 5).   The fun celebration will begin at the amphitheater at 8:00 p.m. with the Terre Haute Community band until the fireworks display begins at dusk. (approximately 10 p.m)

Light Up The Landing- This event takes place on Saturday, June 30th Gates open at 6pm. General admission is $3 per person. $10 VIP Parking. DJ Party Marty, Live Band Chain Reaction, food vendors, bounce houses, Fun Dazzlers, and a Beer Garden with a mix drink station as well. Personal coolers are not permitted. Can bring in lawn chairs or blankets. Pre-purchase tickets by stopping in at The Landing or online through Eventbrite.com

Fireworks Over the Lake Freedom Festival (Sullivan Lake)- 

Friday, June 29th 5 – 11 p.m. Food & Market Vendors open,
6:00 SCPL Golf Cart Poker Run – (register in Office parking lot at 5:45) 50/50 Winner of Poker run will be announced during the Concert
8-11 p.m. Live music by “Country 90 Proof”

Saturday, June 30th 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Food & Market Vendors open 12-4 p.m. PARTY ON PRODUCTIONS! Fun for the kids, contests will be down at the food vendor area.
1:30 back in G Parade registration and line up
2 p.m. Camper Council Decorated Golf Cart Parade FOR CAMPERS ONLY (please make sure all batteries are charged. Going around all circles) 1st, 2nd & 3rd place trophies will be awarded down by tennis courts at end of parade.
6:00 SCPL Golf Cart Poker Run – (register in Office parking lot at 5:45) 50/50 Winner of Poker run will be announced during the Concert
8-11:30 p.m. Live music by “Addiction” (will break during fireworks)
Dusk – Fireworks over the lake spectacular!

Independence Celebration (New Life Fellowship)-Sunday, July 1st Patriotic program begins at 7PM. Concessions available for purchase before and during the event. Fireworks begin when the sun goes down! No cost to attend; bring your lawn chairs!

Forest Park (Brazil)- Aerial Arts puts on this great show, sponsored and paid for by the Brazil Rotary Club. It’s all in the sky, and can be best seen from the east side of Forest Park, or on the Forest Park Golf Course, but you can also get a unique perspective by watching through the trees on the midway. If you watch it on the golf course, PLEASE STAY OFF THE GREENS, and take any trash you see with you when you leave.

Many thousands attend, so get to the park early, and be patient with traffic on your way home! Firework parking and admission are both FREE.

Beach Bash & Fireworks (Raccoon Lake)-Raccoon State Recreation Area will hold it’s annual Beach Bash and Fireworks Display on Saturday, July 7th. Visitors are invited to cap off the day with an evening of fireworks beginning at dusk. The fireworks are co-sponsored by Raccoon SRA, the Bellmore Volunteer Fire Department and the Raccoon Lake/Union Township Property Owners Association. Join us in front of the beach house from 8-10pm for our family friendly Beach Bash before the fireworks.

Illinois

Mill Creek Lake & Park (Marshall)- This event takes place July 3rd on the soccer field, starting at 11 am. There will be food vendors, a bounce house, live music, and fireworks starting at dusk!

Fourth of July Celebration (Casey)- Fairview Park is hosting a fireworks celebration on July 4th from 10am-9pm.  There will be live music, food, & fireworks!

Fireworks (Marshall)- At the Clark county Fair Grounds on July 4th at 8pm.  City Band will be playing and fireworks will take place at dusk.

4th of July Celebration (Paris)- This event takes place on July 7th. Paris City Band will perform patriotic tunes in the afternoon, 71 Band will do a free concert starting around 6:30-Dusk. Free bouncy houses, miniature golf, games for kids. Food vendors, Splash Park, batting cages, all ability playgroup will be open. Lots of areas for picnics. The Paris fireworks will begin at dusk.

Indianapolis

IPL Downtown Freedom Fest- This event starts at 6:30 pm on July 4th at the Indiana War Memorial grounds with festivities including a selfie station, a kid zone, live music, food trucks, and more.  Fireworks will be set off from Regions Tower at 10pm.  The official music of the fireworks can be heard on B105.7, 97.1 HANK FM or 93.1 WIBC. Admission is free.

Party on the Plaza-Indianapolis City Market is another venue to take in the downtown fireworks display from 7 to 11 p.m. July 4. Whistler Plaza will be home to cornhole, ping pong and more. Live music, food and Indiana craft beer will also be avilable. No outside food or drink will be permitted. Tickets are available online for $7.20 for ages 13 and to 64, $6.17 per person for couples, $5.13 for seniors ages 65 and older and children 12 and under are free. Prices include service fees.

Independence Day Celebration at Victory Field-Catch two fireworks displays and a baseball game at Victory Field. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. July 4 with a game versus the Louisville Bats set for 6:15 p.m. The Indianapolis Indians will have their own post-game fireworks and spectators can stay in their seats to watch the downtown fireworks display. The first 12,500 fans will receive an Indiana rally towel. A special auction for the Indiana National Guard Relief Fund will feature Stars and Stripes jerseys worn by coaches and players. Ticket prices range from $10 to $16 for children 14 and under and $11 to $17 for adults. Cove tickets are $40 for adults ages 21 and older and include a $10 food/beverage voucher.

4th of July Ole- The St. Mary Catholic Church Parish festival from 3 to 11 p.m. July 4 boasts food, entertainment, family fun and a “great view of the downtown fireworks.” Admission is free.

Carmel, Fishers, Noblesville

Spark! (Fishers)- The inaugural event replaces the Fishers Freedom Festival and will be held June 29-30.  A street fair opens at 11 a.m. June 30, a parade at 7 p.m. telling the story of Fishers from inception to the present and a fireworks display slated for 10 p.m.

Star-Spangled Symphony (Fishers)-Conner Prairie plays host to 8 p.m. shows June 29-30 and July 3-4 featuring patriotic music by the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and a fireworks display. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. Ticket prices are $13 for children ages 2 to 12 and ages 13 and older are $37.

CarmelFest 2018-The two-day celebration begins July 3, with a parade at 10:30 a.m. July 4 and ends with fireworks at 9:45 p.m. Enjoy live music, a talent competition, a kid zone, rides, vendors and more.

Fourth of July Parade and Fireworks Festival (Noblesville)- The day’s festivities kick off with a parade at 4:30 p.m. July 4. The festival continues from 6 to 10 p.m. at Noblesville High School with live music, games, inflatables, food and more. Fireworks close out the evening at 10 p.m. Admission is free.

Plainfield, Avon

Hendricks Co. Rib-Fest and Avon Balloon Glow- Food, live entertainment, kids activities, tethered ballon rides and more are on tap at Kingsway Christian Church in Avon from 4 to 9:30 p.m. on June 30. Fireworks will launch at dark. Cost is $5 for parking. Download the Rib-Fest app to save $2 on parking at the gate.

Fourth of July Fireworks Extravaganza (Plainfield)- Hummel Park’s annual event in Plainfield from 5 to 10:30 p.m. July 4 features vendors for food, air brush tattoos, face painting and more. Fireworks begin at 9:55 p.m. Live music, bounce houses and fireworks are free to the public.
