    Giving Back

    November 16, 2017 /

November is a month of being thankful and grateful for your blessings and the people who surround you.  Some people in our community aren’t as fortunate, so this is the perfect time of year to give back to others. I found a plethora of options in our area for ways to give back and I’ve compiled a list below of local spots where you can donate items and your time to help those in need. I’ve also highlighted an organization that gives back tremendously to our community. Subscribe & Follow Us

    November 15, 2017 /

Thanksgiving is just 8 days away, so let the countdown to feast mode BEGIN! We have got some really interesting and festive things to do this weekend. Participate in a Friendsgiving Dance Party, shop inside historic homes at the Collett Park Christmas Walk, get your Christmas card photos taken for your pooches at the Happy Howlidays event, & squeeze in a sweat sesh to make you feel better about all those calories that will be consumed in the following week. We won’t have a post up next week, so HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Subscribe & Follow Us

Prepping all the food for Thanksgiving is no small feat. Potato Leek Soup

    November 14, 2017 /

Mashed Potatoes…Potato-Leek Soup Okay, mashed potatoes are the one thing that I look forward to every single Thanksgiving.  I roast up A LOT of garlic, and add that to my SMASHED potatoes…come on people, it’s Thanksgiving…make your potatoes from scratch!  Though I would be perfectly happy eating leftover mashed potatoes as is the next few days after Thanksgiving, I like doing a quick and easy soup especially perfect for Saturday dinner after we’ve all gone and braved the cold to pick out our tree. Sweet Potato & Pecan Waffles

    November 14, 2017 /

Sweet Potatoes…Sweet Potato & Pecan Waffles Okay…so sweet potato casserole.  Do people like it?  It is a tradition in my house EVERY SINGLE YEAR!  And the only 2 people that like it are my mom and grandma.  Which means we are saddled with a lot of leftovers.  I came up with this a few years ago as a tasty way I will actually eat mashed sweet potatoes 🙂 Subscribe & Follow Us
