Friday, October 6th

The Sycamore Winery in West Terre Haute just added fall fire pits to their list of reasons to visit! Get Toasted and reserve one of the 5 fire pits around the lake. The fire pits are located just off the walking trails so you will enjoy a different and beautiful view of the facilities.  All fire pit reservations include a bundle of firewood, use of (2) hay bales, and the fire pit.  Feel free to bring your own chairs or flashlights as you may be walking in the dark. Outside food is NOT allowed, but the winery offers adult beverages, gourmet s’more packets, & carafes of hot cocoa (adult & kid-friendly) available for purchase. Each fire pit must be reserved in 2-hr increments and only costs $20.

You must call the tasting room during tasting room hours at 812-281-2187 to reserve your fire pit and a credit card is required to secure your spot.

Celebrate the coming of fall in downtown Terre Haute with First Friday-Harvest in the Haute. The event starts at 5pm and takes place all around the downtown area.  If you have never been, it is a great way to learn about the community you live in and all it offers. If you need alcohol to have fun, some of the locations do have cash bars. J

  • Clabber Girl Bake Shop– Enjoy their Southern-inspired menu featuring 6 delicious entrees that were curated with the help of our very own Chef Brittany

  • The Swope– Experience the mystical arts of astrology and tarot, Mandala Esoterica will be in the lobby giving free readings

  • TH Children’s Museum– Learn how to make your own applesauce

Here is your chance to watch your friends attempt to dance for a great cause! Support Chances and Services for Youth (CASY) by attending the Dancing with the Terre Haute Stars event at Hulman Center. Doors open at 5:30pm and the evening includes a cocktail hour, dinner, silent auction, and dancing performances by 12 local stars

Saturday, October 7th

Join the majority of Terre Haute at the Wabash Valley Race for the Cure event taking place at Meadows Shopping Center from 7-11am. We all know someone affected by breast cancer and this event is a fantastic fundraiser that helps deepen the impact in the local and global fight against this terrible disease.

Grab your running shoes for a race around Dull’s Tree Farm while holding a (you guessed it) PUMPKIN. The Great Pumpkin Run takes place in Thorntown, Indiana from 9am-2pm on Saturday.  All participants choose to run a regular, boring 5K or have the option to add on the Tough Pumpkin (run a 5K while carrying a pumpkin). This event is definitely a way to spice up your exercise routine for this weekend.

Do you love cereal & the movie Hocus Pocus?! You could enjoy your two favorite things together this weekend in Indianapolis at Cereal Cinema. Parents & kids are invited to the Indianapolis Museum of Art at 10am to enjoy a cereal breakfast bar and a viewing of the ever-so popular movie Hocus Pocus. Local blueberry farm Fresh on Cyprus at Miller Farms is hosting a Fall Customer Appreciation Event this Saturday. The event is free to the public and includes fall photo mini-sessions, pumpkins & mums available for purchase, snacks & refreshments, arts & crafts, games & more.

Saving the best event for last… take a day trip this weekend over to Palestine, Illinois to enjoy their Wine & Art Festival. The event will feature 15 central and southern Illinois wineries, fine arts & crafts, great food, & live entertainment.  The event runs from Saturday, October 7th at 11:30am to Sunday, October 8th at 5pm.  Don’t forget to bring your wallet & come thirsty!

Sunday, October 8th

Take a trip down memory lane to Collett Park for Old Fashion Day. From 12pm-5pm enjoy live music, special activities, carriage rides, and more.  There will be hands on pottery demonstrations, woodcarving, ham & beans cooked up by Chef Hal, horseshoe pitching, & puppets!  Stop by the park on the Northside and enjoy this celebration on your Sunday stroll.

FOR THE MAIN EVENT, you don’t want to miss the 6-cast member wrestling & comedy blowout with the Micro Wrestling Federation at Tolly’s Bar & Grill. Enjoy drinks and watch 34 inches of fun!
