Taste Terre Haute: Wise Pies

Pizza is the way to our hearts.  Okay, so is ice cream, pasta, and tasty cocktails, but pizza is definitely number one.  By far my favorite place in Terre Haute to get pizza is at Wise Pies downtown on 6th St.  This place holds a special place in my heart, so I’m ever so excited to share with you guys our latest Taste Terre Haute adventure.

Taste Terre Haute will run for two weeks; July 16th – July 27th.  The event will highlight a variety of restaurants in the Wabash Valley and showcase their unique offerings.  Every participant will be asked to offer a “deal” aka their own “taste” to diners, whether that is a special menu, free dessert, specialty cocktail, percentage off a meal; the specials are up to each individual restaurant.  Wise Pies is a member of the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce and for Taste Terre Haute your get some added deliciousness with your specialty pizza.

Wise Pies serves up New York style pizza by the slice or the pie.  For their Taste offering, they are giving you a free order of bread sticks with purchase of a specialty 18 inch pizza.  Feeding a crowd?  Or can’t decide…don’t despair, you can get the whole pizza in your favorite flavor or get it half and half with your 2 favorites.

My go to pie every single time I come in, is White Pizza.  White Pizza is topped with fresh garlic and olive oil, cracked black pepper and a variety of fresh cheese (provolone, ricotta, and mozzarella!).  I sprinkle mine with crushed red pepper flakes then dig in and bask in pizza paradise.

You really can’t go wrong when selecting one of the specialty pizzas from their menu.  From The Carnivore (pepperoni, ham, pork sausage & mozzarella) to Out of the Garden (spinach, broccoli, green peppers, mushrooms, onion, fresh garlic, & mozzarella); they are dish out pies that have a little something for everyone.  Another favorite, is the WOW.  Anytime I go to Wise Pies with friends, we always end up with a split pizza.  Half White, half WOW.

Another added bonus that Melissa and I discovered when visiting, is their outside seating.  They already have seating outside of their main entrance on 6th.  However, in the spring and summer you can make your way to their secluded patio seating and enjoy the beautiful weather with your pizza and your friends.  I especially love this area, and can’t wait for these summer days to cool off just a bit so the patio can be opened up again.

We would like to extend a special thank you to everyone at Wise Pies for amazing service and for the opportunity to sample and taste all their amazing menu items!  We hope ALL of you take this opportunity to stop in and take advantage of this event put on by the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Pepsi Refreshment Services.
